Dawn Lopez

After being talked out of following her dream of teaching while she was in college, Dawn began her career in marketing and product management for both gaming and financial software technology companies. After 15 years, she finally pursued her passion and has been a teacher and media specialist at Silver Shores Elementary since 2006, where she also coaches the math and robotics teams. She is passionate about instilling digital citizenship, STEM, and coding skills into young minds and assisted in writing the elementary computer science standards for the state of Florida. She is a self-proclaimed nerd, loves anything purple, and is the proud mom of 2 college kids and 2 rescue dogs.
