Matthew Hiefield
Matt Hiefield (MAT) has 25 years of experience teaching high school Social Studies and is currently a digital curator for the Beaverton School District. He serves on the District Equity Team and is passionate about digital divide issues and how the lack of home broadband internet access affects both teaching and learning. He currently serves as an ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) Digital Equity PLN Leader, an ISTE Digital Equity PLN Editor, and as a CoSN (Consortium of School Networking) Digital Equity Advisory Council Member. He also facilitates Latino Parent Technology Nights in an effort to address the digital use divide. Matt is on the leadership team for his district’s large scale hotspot implementation project and is also a member of Beaverton’s team that won CoSN’s 2018 National Award for Digital Equity Work.
