Lesson Title: Netiquette and Cyberbullying 

Grade Levels: K-2 

Length of Lesson: 60 minutes 

Overview: In this lesson, teachers introduce students to concepts of netiquette, proper online behavior, and cyberbullying prevention. Students will use their knowledge to create a poster to educate others. 


  • Students learn that when technology makes it possible for people to communicate without seeing the other person's face or hearing a voice, sometimes it is hard to know if that person is angry or happy. 
  • Students learn that they should always think about how someone will feel before they say or write something 
  • Students learn that if someone writes them a message that is meant to make them feel bad, they should show it to a teacher or parent, and not reply. 
  • Students learn that it is important to be careful what they send using technology, to make sure it is something their parents and teachers would approve of, because anything sent using technology could be made visible to everyone in the world, and could even be used to hurt them at any time now or in the future. 
  • Students learn to never share their passwords except with parents and teachers.
